Ang mabuhay dahil sa OFWs

Filed under: Features — admin at 8:54 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2008

Ako, mamamatay para sa OFWs!

Pero mas masarap mabuhay dahil sa OFWs! (CLICK THIS FOR THE STORY.) Here are some of my gifts, funny kwentos, and inspiring moments:

(CLICK THIS FOR THE STORY). Hahaha! Eto kami at nag-pictorial sa Tower of Pisa.

g1.jpg

This is the reason why I am not scared to travel alone. There will always be a Filipino to help you and feed you! Hihihi!

2. Two Pairs of Prada Boots- Eto naman si Mitch, isang sikat na hairdresser sa Barcelona.
g2.jpg

G Spot: Ay! Parang barko, 8 ½, mala-Imelda Romualdez Marcos sans 3000 pairs! (Ibawas mo lang yung 3,000 pairs).

Mitch secretly smiled. I thought he found my joke funny and was just interested to find out how big my feet were, since he saw me in my slippers inside the hotel and probably thought my feet were humungous. After my concert in Barcelona, the concierge gave two Prada boxes containing two pairs of boots which I use till today. Thank you Mitch!

Life stories inspire me. Biglaan, parang amnesia due to stress. Di ako doctor kaya di ko talaga ma-explain. The doctors explained to Vic that it was some kind of neural damage that his wife incurred due to stress.

If you don’t give up on God, God will not give up on you.

Gloria Sevilla (not the actress): Day-off ko ngayon.

Kaya naman Maritess ang tawag ko sa kanya kasi naaalala ko sa kanya yung monologue ni Rex Navarette na ginawang cartoons at sobrang nag-click—Ang Maritess and the Superfriends. Panoorin ninyo ito, sobrang nakakatawa.

TO MY PEPSTER FRIENDS, from now on, I will answer three PEPster comments that I feel needs a reply.

Hi Giselle, kudos to you for another interesting blog with matching tribute churva sa mga Pinoy na nakilala mo sa ibang bansa. Based on your experience, mababait nga ang mga Pinoy na nakilala mo pero in reality, marami rin sa ating mga kababayan na nakarating nang abroad na feeling snobbish. lalo na ung may mga papel na at legal nang nakakapagwork sa ibang bansa, they look down on Pinoys na tago nang tago samantalang nanggaling din cla duon. Marami ring OFWs na nagbabago ang ugali pag nakpasuot nang branded but sad to say, di nabago ang itsura nila nang LV or Versace.

…Shit! Oops! …I still don’t understand it, Ms. Giselle! …how could be being an “OFW” or a “Slave” be ssso fashionable? …we’re already in 21st century! …where’s the human dignity and self respect? …there’s nothing to be proud of, if you ask me! …I guess it’s a necessity rather than a choice, such a conundrum! :(

…why do BSB ™ questions this global pinoy phenomenon? …I’ll tell you why, coz the next President Elect of the United States of America, and leader of the Free World would be coming from historic “Black Slaves” , that’s why!!! …”Educate your Minds” and be a “Somebody”! ;)

…let’s impeach GMA, now who’s with me? …onsikantot, this is her last months in office! hmmm Oh Well! …then let’s impeach your next President! Oops! hahaha! ;)

Hi Ms. Gee,
At first kay Sweet lang talaga ako nagbabasa ng blog dito sa PEP tapos naisipan click naman yung sa ‘yo and I find it very entertaining you have different style kasi sa’yo may kasamang pics si Sweet ganun na rin. Tapos I click also to Joleens inaabangan ko na kayong tatlo kung may bagong blog kayo. Both Sweet and Joleens nag comment ako pero I never get a reply sana sa pangatlo nagkataong ikaw positive naman di ba? I remember in one of your blog na takot ka ma D&C dahil sa general anesthesia. I am also subject to that sana gaya sa ‘yo with your prayers di natuloy yung sa ‘yo sana you help me in praying na ako makalusot din.

Oops! hahaha! ;)

…they even set “call centers” now in Vietnam, where everybody sounds like a duck! …that would be an interesting phone conversation! ;)

…Imagine taking a bright job opportunity abroad, and upon arrival forced to hard human labor, having no freedom of speech, no freedom of movement, and absolutely no say on what happens to you! …imagine being constantly afraid, feeling there is no way out… :(

…this is the experience of thousands, even millions of women who endure unimaginable brutality everyday just to send money back home. And yet, many “pipol” don’t understand that “Human Trafficking” or “modern slavery” …exists! :(

…it is a global issue that needs global attention! …the statistics of “modern slavery” are staggering and the heartbreaking stories of it’s “uninformed” victims are …shocking!

…If you are a victim of “Human Trafficking” …this is your time to speak! …uh-huh! Oops! ;)

…where does “Traffiking” occurs, BSB ™?
…I’m glad you ask! “Traffiking” occurs all over the world, and is growing at record speed due to global economic gaps, as well as high unemployment rates that forces “pipol” to look for work abroad. ;)

…who are the victims?
…economically, emotionally …vulnerable poor “pipol” are easiest target for traffiking. these demographic are easier to recruit and control than other social groups because they recieve the least amount of protection from the law. :(

…why is it profitable?
…human beings are a profitable commodity to traffikers/recruiters because “pipol” can be used again and again and again, with little or no start-up cost needed. And besides it is difficult crime to prosecute, where laws against it don’t even exist! :(

…who are the “traffikers”?
…I thought you’d never ask! it could be “anybody” really …fueled by high economic growth and low risk factor! Oops! :p

…Take action, to learn more …Google it! ;)
