Hola España!

“Hola!”—Hello!

That’s the only word you need if you want to be picked up in Spain, if you want to make friends, if you want to eat, if you want to buy something. Basically, if you want to survive in Spain, that’s all you need to live by—HOLA!

I had to cram two days in Madrid due to my schedule. So immediately upon arrival, I had to don my make-up for my show at the Colegio de San Agustin for the Philippine Independence day. Going there, I had to convince Randy Santiago for a pictorial in this fountain. Madrid PEPsters, please refresh my memory what fountain this is please?

All I can recall is that Dolphy filmed in this same fountain for his movie El Pinoy Matador. Naglaba siya sa fountain na ito!!! As in!! HOLA TALAGA!

The police were very lenient in Madrid, even up to now!

HOLA! PInoy Kayo? Ako ang Con Gen niyo. Huwag naman kayo nagsusugal sa park. Ang daming batang naglalaro sa park. Baka sabihin pa ng iba, sugarol Pilipino. Hinid maganda tignan.

Upon arriving in the venue, Randy Santiago and I were in awe as a sea of Filipinos greeted us. HOLA ULI!

After the show, Globe treated us to a sumptuous dinner in Masala. The King and Queen of Spain would usually frequent that place and would sit here in this swing where we are posing.

In the middle of the TFC and Globe team  is Con Gen Cookie Feria, ang natatanging con gen na love na love ng Pinoy sa España. Hola, CONGEN!

Masala is operated by a Filipino named  Lulu. Actually, hindi Lulu pangalan niya. Half-Girl, half-boy siya kaya Lulu. Try saying Lulu several times nang mabilis. Di ba up and down ang dila mo? ‘Yan ang expertise ng mga Lulu! Hahaha! Hola, Lulus!

Ayyy naalala ko na name niya—Wendy! O, di ba, it’s so gurly. Dapat Wendel!

The next day, I did my shopping with Lizet Sabalvaro of Globe in Mango and Zara because it was Madrid’s SM Shoemart! It was soooo cheap compared to the Mango and Zarah here, I felt like I was in Divisoria— of course, I was taking advantage of the Summer Sale. Hola, Prada!

That night my gay friend James treated me to dinner at  El Estragon. After having our first-class dinner, he asked me what “naughty” thing I’d like to do before I die?

And that story is to be continued in my next blog.

HOLA! Nabitin ka?
