When Stars Make OFWs Happy (Part 2- Vina Morales, Mark Bautista, and Sponge Cola)

Filed under: Features — GSM0d at 11:59 am on Wednesday, July 21, 2010

So sorry, PEPsters. I was on time writing this blog pero sa sobrang ngarag ko because of my consecutive shows in Dubai and London, I failed to send my editor the attachment. So here’s  the blog I wrote as of July 16, 2010.

VINA MORALES.
Excited ako because I am going to see Vina Morales again this Saturday, July 17, in our show in Hounslow, UK. Vina is probably the nicest star I have met. I love her!

MARK BAUTISTA.
Eto ‘ata ang pinaka-professional na nakilala ko. Assembly pa lang sa labas ng hotel, six hours before the show, nasa loob na siya ng bus na fully-made up at hawak-hawak ang CD. Kakalokah! Siyempre ask ako about the Rayver issue versus parents ni Sarah.

May sariling mundo. I was eavesdropping on their normal conversation while putting on make-up since we all shared the same dressing room. They were all talking to each other as though they were in a graded oral examination in high school, using high-falluting words that cannot be understood by a normal person. Very high school!

THE SHOW ITSELF. Date: June 6. Venue: Tao Yuen Stadium Taiwan. Number of Pinoys present: 7,000. Event: Independence Day celebration sponsored by Globe Telecom.

Akalain mo bang mag-stage dive! Ayun nasugatan tuloy. Then he recounted that it was not the first time he had an accident from stagediving. “So why do you do it?” tanong ko.

“I like the feeling,” sagot niya.

At over ang energy. Maganda ang mga kanta ng Sponge Cola. Kaya sila sikat.

Ooops! Sorry po. My bad. Hehehe.

Si Mark naman, parang kakanta sa debut! Naka-coat and tie sa stadium! Professional!

At siyempre, eto ako, umo-O.A.  sa energy! Paano ba naman, 7,000 Filipinos ang nandoon. That’s Power! Thank you, thank you sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers na nagpunta. Sana napasaya namin kayo.

ETC.

When Stars make OFWs happy (Part 1)

Filed under: Travelogue — GSM0d at 4:51 pm on Saturday, July 10, 2010

Now there is something to watch for in the next five Fridays, as I will recount my stories about the stars I was with for the past month: Jed Madela in Oman; Keempee de Leon in Macau ; Vina Morales, Sponge Cola and Mark Bautista in Taiwan; Randy Santiago in Madrid; and Dingdong Dantes, Luis Manzano, and Aegis in Hongkong.

I will divide my stories to five parts para exciting and para weekly ninyong sinusundan ang blog ko. So let’s start with Jed Madela in Oman.

As I have mentioned in my previous blog (CLICK HERE), 54 degrees sa Oman. I checked the faucet. And then I realized that the water pipes were built underground.

Joke. Doon sa bandang yun na-discover si Jed ni Ronnie Henares, and the rest was history.

• 2003 Voice of Asia International Song Festival – Silver prize

• 2002 Voice of Asia – Best Male Singer

• Voice of Asia – Winner, People’s Choice category (thru internet poll survey)

• Celebrity Chronicle Hollywood USA – 2003 Breakthrough Male Performer

• Plaque of Distinction of Honor from President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo

He made me listen to the songs of his upcoming album. Puro mga classics and old songs. Ang ganda! I’m sure it will be a hit just like his album Songs Rediscovered, where he featured all-time favorites including: “Your Song” (Elton John), “Love Always Finds A Way” (Peabo Bryson), “The Past” (Ray Parker Jr.), “Heaven Knows” (Rick Price), “Changes In My Life” (Marc Sherman), “Right Next To Me” (Whistle), “Home” (Michael Jackson/Diana Ross), “Can’t Cry Hard Enough” (Williams Brothers), “Because Of You” (Keith Martin), “Only Reminds Me Of You” (St. Paul), “Beauty And Madness” (Fra Lippo Lippi), “Time Will Reveal” (El deBarge), and the carrier single “How Can I Fall” (originally by Breathe).

Aside from his superb vocal talent, Jed is such a techie. He can also draw and paint in his iPad. I saw his paintings and they were pretty impressive. Pero dahil sa iPad niya ginagawa, I was a bit skeptical. Baka cut and paste lang ginagawa nito at niloloko lang niya ako.

So while waiting for his flight, I challenged him to paint a poster for our show which means he has to draw a picture of Miss GSpot and himself. At eto ang drawing niya. In fairness, kamukha ko ha!

Nga pala, sa mga taga-Dubai, I will have a a show in Dubai Ratsky on July 16. Those of you who live in London and any part of the United Kingdom who want to see Gabby Concepcion, Vina Morales, and the Melason duo (Melay and Jason), punta kayo sa Hounslow fiesta on July 17. The fiesta starts at 1:00 pm. See you next Friday for my next blog.
