Go for gold!

Hello, PEPsters and Multipliers!

I included the readers of my Multiply account in my greeting here in PEP because I have stopped posting blogs in the former. Naks! As if naman, life changing ang mga entries ko. Moving on…

It’s not only because I got threat for my life, but also because I believe that if I had truly offended Ms. Nora Aunor, then that is not good.

Pero come to think of it, parang hindi naman talaga. Totoo rin naman na we know the ethics of impersonation.

Join din kami ni Aiko as partners sa Deal or No Deal.

“Ms. Candy, kailangan niyo po talaga ng six friends or family to help you out,” say ni Dong na talent coordinator.

I have two with me now. I brought along my sister MM and kumare, Ate Oyie,” say ko.

We prayed for peace and joy. Siyempre, tumawag na naman ako sa aking counselor to pray with me again. Unlike noong una na sumali ako sa Deal or No Deal, todo kabado ako, pero this time, steady na ang pulso ako. To make a long story short, Aiko and I were left with a choice between ten pesos and one million.

candy012.jpg

I remember Kris saying, “The last time both of you were here, you both didn’t go all the way, only to find out that both of you had a million in your chosen briefcase.” Sabay tanong, “Deal or No Deal?”

The last time I was here I prayed, but then, I did not trust my prayers were going to be answered. This time, I had the chance to claim my answered prayer through trusting. The trust part was like walking on very thin line: ten pesos and one million. I decided to trust. Go for gold….

“No Deal,” I told Aiko. Aiko, looking at Patrick, agreed to my decision.

We are the 15th millionaire. It wa a matter of trust and going for it. Fight! Fight! Fight talaga! Kaloka!

Honestly, more than the one million jackpot that we got (share kami ni Aiko, minus the 20% tax), I was overwhelmed by the realizations and lessons na natutunan ko that very instant. I’d be such a hypocrite if I deny that I’m not happy with my winnings. Of course, I am. Thank you. That day was also a celebration of friendship.

Next day, I was asked to attend dance rehearsals. Dance rehearsals for what? Shall We Dance?

Ang bilis ng mga pangyayari and events leading to the first rehearsal.

Last week, kinukulit ako ni Rowena, road manager from Genesis, about my guesting for Shall We Dance. Kinukulit niya ako sa gitna ng pagtawag din naman sa akin ng mga tao regarding the Nora issue and in between the Deal or No Deal waiting time.

We practiced the night before taping. We taped early morning next day. Pang-ilan po tayo sasayaw? Ask ko sa partner ko. My partner, Nicko, simply shrugged off his shoulders. I called my counselor and asked her to pray with me. After the prayer, I immediately went back to the studio and sat beside my partner to wait.

Candy and Nicko, you are pair number 1! Say ni Arlene Tolibas, assistant director.

candy021.jpg candy031.jpg candy041.jpg

“Huh?! Number 1 tayo?

Does it matter kung 1 or 2 or pang-last kami? It doesn’t change the fact na tatapak kami ng stage at sasayaw ako. Kaya sige na nga…Heto na…

“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome pair number 1,” announced by the radiant, labanos-white, Ms. Lucy Torres.

candy-pangilinan.jpg

Aliw! Katuwaan lang daw. Aba naman! Nakakatuwa naman yang katuwaan niya at maari niyang pagkakitaan. Go girl! Huwag mong i-secret iyang talent mo. Go for gold!

Basta na-realize ko, no matter how big or small the task maybe, go for gold! With the right intentions, don’t look back, just go for the gold. You will never have it, unless you claim it.

Quick Rundown

I am really sorry for not being able to update my blog. My schedule has been so hectic and erratic. Those times I wasn’t working, I had to choose among the following things to do: updating my entry, sleeping, playing with Quentin, relaxing a bit, and having a long bath. Forgive me if I had to choose the others.

Still, thank God for work. Thank you talaga nang bonggang bongga!

GOOD NEWS MUNA. Congratulations kay John Lapus at Pokwang for winning Aliw’s Best Stand-up Comedy for male and female. If I am not mistaken, this is the only award giving body that acknowledges the hard work of people on live stage. Muchas Gracias!

Nag-pilot taping na po kami ng bagong show na isa na naman pong French format adaptation, katulad ng Camera Café, entitled You Women.

You Women focuses on women situations and everyday realities. Obvious ba sa title?! You Women is directed by Mark Meily and Henri de Lorme. Location kami kaya naman halong init, lamig, lapot, nginig, at lagkit ang nai-experience namin. We have a very small cast kaya naman dire-diretso ang salang sa amin. Aside from enjoying the work, I had the pleasure to get to know more of the people I work with, like Assunta de Rossi, Tuesday Vargas, and Kahlila. Ka-join din namin sina Christian Vasquez and Arnold dela Cruz bilang mga male support actors. Oo nga naman, sa totoo lang, women do stupid things to get men.

It’s something new. It’s interesting. It’s fast. It’s challenging.

The format itself is challenging. It becomes more challenging when I am being directed by our French producer/director Henri, who has a hard time expressing himself in English. He gives us directions a la charades, with sound effects and high energy animation, na naiintindihan ko naman nang bonggang-bongga! Kung merong inter-country charades, mananalo kami. We rehearse sketches in English and shoot them in Filipino, O, sa’n ka pa? In the process, naisip ko na rin na magturo kaya ako ng basic English-tagalog lessons. Additional income din yun. Naks!

A BIT OF SAD NEWS. Last weekend na po kami sa Spooftacular Showdown at nabato po ako ng nakakapraning na batikos mula sa Noranians.

candy03.jpg

3. I know that most of you will throw me the question, “Don’t you have a mind of your own?” As an artist, I know in my heart that I have done my outmost to uplift Ms. Nora Aunor without compromising the demands of the sketch.

After my thorough research, I was amazed and totally stunned by her achievements not only locally but internationally as well.

5. It was indeed very sad that after everything that I have done while in the process of molding and uplifting Ate Guy’s character, I still got threats…

We apologize to all Noranians if we still─in the spirit of fairness, truthfulness, and fun─did not give justice to Ate Guy’s character. For any hurt that we have caused, we are sorry.

I personally would like to apologize to Ate Guy if I have done her wrong. After my research about Ms. Nora Aunor’s achievements, I’m truly hats off to you. You are our Superstar.

Nakakatakot, e.

My mom invited a priest last week to bless the house and exorcise the spirits in it.

Bakit?

Some of the members of the household claimed that they felt “unseen spirits” and heard voices in the house. In other words, meron pong nagpaparamdam sa bahay namin, as in confeeeeerm! Actually, nararamdaman ko nga sila. As a matter of fact, nakikita ko nga sila paminsan-minsan.

The priest who specializes in exorcism also has that gift of seeing this spirits. He told me that his mission is to free these spirits from bondage and pray that their souls may ascend to their destination. Whatta mission!

Bakit? Kasi mas open sila, or sensitive, or ganun lang daw talaga….

I remember when I watched the movie The Sixth Sense, I really freaked out! That movie confirmed almost everything that I considered as part of my wild imagination. Confeeerm! Nakakatakot!

After watching that film, hindi ako umihi mag-isa.

I usually have an uninvited visitor whenever I use my comfort room in the office.

There was also an incident at the bar area, which is just outside the office. One night, I was doing some work, when a lady passed by. I just saw her from my peripheral view. Siyempre, at first, deadma…

2.jpg

Then I sensed na marami sila—some were standing, and some were staring at me. ‘Tapos biglang tingin, wala.

Na-iimagine mo ba?

My room is conducive for continual habitation of spirits.

My councilor, Tita Baby and Fr. Ghostbuster, have common teachings. These are some of them.

1. They come to you because they are asking for prayers. They cannot pray for themselves but they can pray for you.]

2. Some of them are lingering souls that cannot cross from where they now to where they are supposed to go.

3. When you talk about them, you attract them.

4. Some are territorial spirits, meaning, they had lived and owned that place, house or area long before you came. One cannot just easily shoo them away. When properly exorcised and prayed for, they may leave. But when people fight within the house or anyone one carries hatred in their hearts or does some sinful acts, then you attract them back. Thus, they become stronger. Totoo naman pala yung, birds of the same feather flock together. That holds true for human spirits and elemental spirits as well. Taray!

5. Spirits do not live under the tables. They are usually attracted by the hearts of men that co-habit with them.

6. Some spirits are brought by some people who visit your house.

7. When you feel or see them, say a prayer for them. Let them know that you will pray for them. (Kung kaya mo, maki-talkies pa…)

8. The “Apostles’ Creed,” “Lord’s Prayer,” “Hail Mary,” and “Glory Be” can be powerful prayers.

9. These poor souls can also be used by the evil ones. We must be careful and be in the state of grace to confront them.

10. Throw away unnecessary clutter, empty containers, old bottles and stuff kept at the bodega. They, too, attract spirits.

3l.jpg

11. Always include the poor souls in our prayers because truly, they are suffering.

Inexorcise yung bahay namin. Kasama namin ang yaya sa room, with matching music and prayers.

Kasabay naman ng ma multo episodes na ito sa life ko ay ang preparation for the show “Spooftacular” at Music Museum, all Fridays and Saturdays of November until the first week-end of December. Show starts at 8:00 p.m. Ang lapit na. Hindi ako maka-memorize pag gabi or pag mag-isa kasi nga natatakot ako.

Nakakahiya, produced by ASAP live pa naman. The same producers who gave you Rock the Vote at Night at the Museum.

Isang buwan ang show namin. At nakakatakot din naman ang mga guests. Like Chokoleit, o, di ba nakakatakot? Love you, Chocoleit. Love you again. Chika!
